Attention everyone interested in the Florida Southern College Band Camp and String Camp. We are sorry to announce that both music camps, Band and Strings will be cancelled for summer 2020. This decision was made for the health of all of our faculty, staff, campers and families.

Students that have registered will be issued a full refund. Please be patient as the FSC Business Office works through this process.

We anticipate returning next summer with both camps. Band Camp, June 13-18, 2021 and String Camp, June 20-25, 2021.

2020 Summer Band Camp
at Florida Southern College
June 14 to June 19

Who Can Attend?

The camp is open to students entering 7th-12th grade in the Fall of 2020 (next school year). Students must have at least one year of playing experience and their director’s signature. Enrollment for the camp is limited due to residence hall space, as always, waiting lists will develop.

Tuition

Resident Camper ($475)

Fees for a “Resident Camper” include housing, all meals, facilities, T-shirt, group and individual instruction, organized evening activities.

Day Camper ($330)

Fees for a “Day Camper” include lunch M-F, facilities, dinner on Sunday and Friday, T-shirt, group and individual instruction, organized evening activities (optional).

Payment Deadlines

May 15

May 15 is the deadline for the $100 non-refundable deposit.

June 5

Balance and full payment is due by June 5.

After June 5 a $25 late registration fee will be added.

Facilities

Resident Campers will be living on campus and will enjoy spacious, air-conditioned rooms in the resident dormitories. Students are under excellent adult supervision at all times. Resident Campers will be served three meals a day! Resident Campers will not be allowed to leave campus, except for an emergency. All students living outside the Lakeland area are expected to be “Resident Campers” and reside in the residence dormitory.

Day Campers will be attending all rehearsals, concerts, and performances beginning on Sunday, June 14. Day Campers will be provided lunch Monday – Friday and may also participate in all evening camp activities.

Concert and check–out Friday night on June 19, 2020 at 6:30 PM in Branscomb auditorium (free and open to all family and friends!)

 

Band Placement

During the registration day, students will play a “short” audition to help the staff place them in a band based on their ability. This will ensure the student receives the best instruction possible! The student can prepare one of the All-State Etudes, a short solo, or anything showing their playing ability. Students will also be asked to play some of their scales. Percussion will be auditioning on Snare, Mallet, and Tympani. Bring all your sticks and mallets.
