COVID-19 Testing and Cases Statistics
Florida Southern is dedicated to sharing information about COVID-19 with students, parents, faculty, staff, and all those who are involved with and support the College.
Students who receive positive tests, or have close contact with someone who has tested positive, must immediately contact 863.680.5010. Faculty and staff members must immediately alert their dean/supervisor and the Office of Human Resources.
Periodic Reporting
Florida Southern conducts daily, random COVID-19 tests of students. These tests are conducted at our on-campus testing location, with results ready in about 20 minutes.
Testing and case statistics will be reported on a daily basis using the prior day's results. The data will be updated each afternoon Monday through Friday. Friday’s results will be reported the following Monday. The results from Saturday, Sunday and Monday will be reported in the Tuesday daily numbers. In the next section, you can see the semester cumulative. In the third section you can see historical data week by week.

The College will monitor multiple factors as the semester progresses to ensure campus can safely remain open, including the number and percentage of positive tests and capacity in on-campus isolation and quarantine spaces. FSC also will monitor community measures such as Polk County’s percentage of positive tests and the capacity of local health care systems to manage positive cases. The College will continue to consult with local, state, and national healthcare and medical experts.
Student, employee, and patient confidentiality laws prevent Florida Southern from sharing the names of individuals who test positive for COVID-19. Please note that if a student, faculty or staff member, or local/state officials does not share positive tests with the College, FSC may not know of them and therefore cannot include here.
