The College has provided reusable, washable FSC masks to all members of our campus community. Masks should be worn on campus, in classrooms, academic and administrative buildings, offices, and wherever physical distancing is not possible. It is only in private residence hall rooms—when someone is alone or when physical distancing is possible—that masks are not required.
Washing hands is easy and one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after you have been in a public place or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
The College will undertake enhances cleaning of campus facilities, including academic buildings, residence halls, and offices, with a focus on common areas and high-touch locations. Employees are encouraged to clean and sanitize their workspaces and common spaces, and students are encouraged to clean individual residence spaces regularly.
Since people can spread the virus before they know they are sick, it is important to stay at least six feet away from others when possible. Therefore, physical distancing (a minimum of six feet between individuals) must be maintained in all spaces throughout campus. Facilities, classrooms, and lab spaces have been measured and configured so that classes and meetings can take place with proper physical distancing.
All members of the FSC community must self-monitor daily for COVID-19 symptoms. Symptoms include cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, or a new loss of taste or smell. Other less common symptoms have been reported, including gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. Students who become symptomatic for COVID-19 or receive positive tests must immediately contact 863-680-4305 for quarantine assistance and information about next steps.
