Airport Shuttle Service

Florida Southern College Airport Shuttle Service

Florida Southern provides shuttle transportation for current students to and from the Tampa (TPA) and Orlando (MCO) airports for breaks throughout the school year.

Dates

Shuttle pickups will be on Saturday, January 23 and Sunday, January 24, 2021.

Times

Pick-up times will be at 12:00 PM (noon) and 6:00 PM, both days.

Location of Pickups

Tampa International – Meet at Red Baggage claim #14, near Starbuck’s.

Orlando International – Meet at level one, Side B at the American Airlines Baggage Claim area.

Capacity Limit

Shuttles are limited to seven riders per shuttle.

COVID Screening Protocols

Please turn your cell phone on upon landing. If you have any questions, you can contact Campus Safety at 863.680.5010. All shuttle participants will be pre-checked by Community Living. All returning students must complete the following Community Living protocol before allowed on campus:

  • COVID Screening and agreement Form. This information can be found on the FSC Student Portal.
  • Have a current negative COVID test within seven days of your return to campus. This information must be uploaded to the FSC Student Portal prior to departure.
  • Pass a temperature check.

All shuttles are on a first come first serve basis. All reservations must be made within three business days of the reservation. If the student does not show for the reservation, the student shall forfeit all fees. The shuttles are on a set schedule. If your flight is delayed, it will be the responsibility of the student to find alternative transportation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I schedule my departing flight?

Book your flight 3 hours after the time of the departing shuttle. This will account for any traffic on the roads or lines at the check-in counter and airport security.

How should I schedule my arriving flight?

You’ll want to choose a return flight that arrives at least two hours before the designated pick-up time. This will allow for any small flight delays and provide time to deplane and collect your belongings from baggage claim.

Other helpful tips:

Be prepared to spend some down-time at the airport; it is encouraged to bring books, magazines, computer, phone and charger to help pass any remaining down-time.

How do I register for the shuttle?

Shuttle registration is available on the FSC Student Portal. In your registration, you’ll need to include your contact information, and be prepared select the shuttle that best fits your needs.

Is there a fee to register for the shuttle?

There is a $30 fee each way due at the time of shuttle registration.

What is the deadline for shuttle registration?

Shuttle registration closes 24 hours prior to the school break but space is on a first-come, first-served basis so we recommend making your travel arrangements and reserving your shuttle early. Additionally, the registration form will only show shuttle dates/times with available seats.

What if I miss the shuttle or the shuttle is not available on the day I'm traveling?

Florida Southern College does not offer airport shuttles on other dates, nor is the college responsible for transportation if you miss the shuttle. If you find yourself in this situation there are a few recommendations outlined below:

How do I ensure that I do not miss my departing shuttle?

The shuttle departs from the Circle Drive outside of Wynee’s Bistro. Shuttles depart promptly at their listed departure time.

Where do I meet the Shuttle at TPA/MCO Airport?

At Tampa (TPA) you should make your way to the red baggage claim and congregate around the Starbucks. The shuttle will pick you up from the exit nearest to baggage belt #14 / Starbucks at the designated pick-up time.

At Orlando(MCO) shuttles pick-up on Level 1 (Ground Transportation) of the Main Terminal, Side B at the American Airlines Baggage Claim area. A designated parking space number will be shared with you after your registration is complete.

Cancelling my Shuttle

You should email airportshuttle@flsouthern.edu at least 3 days (72 hours) in advance. If you do not email us to cancel, we will assume that you still need a ride.

What if I forget to cancel my shuttle and I don't show up?

You must cancel your shuttle ride at least 3 days (72 hours) in advance of your departure or arrival shuttle time or your $30 registration fee will not be refunded.

What if my arriving flight comes in late and I cannot make my shuttle time?

We cannot guarantee we will have a shuttle ride available for you other than the predetermined times. If your flight is late or you miss your shuttle, we recommend calling a car company, or calling a friend.
