Every ten years, Florida Southern College is required to seek reaffirmation of accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). As part of that process, the College is required not only to look back at where it has been, and to assess its current practices, but also to think about how it might improve in the future.
One key component of this “looking ahead” toward continuous improvement is the development of a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The QEP is a five-year plan that focuses on improving student learning outcomes in one particular area. The identification of a QEP topic and the development of the actual Quality Enhancement Plan is a significant institutional undertaking. It should ideally involve the input of a broad range of College stakeholders: students, faculty, staff, administration, Board of Trustee members, alumni, and interested community members. And it should result in the development of a program that will significantly advance the mission and vision of Florida Southern College.
