Fall Break

Residential Communities will remain open to all residents during Fall Break.

Meal Plans

Meal Plans will end on Friday, October 12 and resume on Sunday, October 21. There will be limited dining options during Fall Break. Students will be able to use points and Moc Bucks but will not have new meal swipes or points added for the week of Fall Break.

Thanksgiving Break

Communities Close

Tuesday, November 20 at 5:00 PM

Communities Open

Sunday, November 25 at noon

If you need to remain on campus, you must register by Friday, November 16 at 5:00 PM.

There is a $15 late fee if received after deadline.

Meal Plans

Please Note: Meal plans will be prorated for the week of Monday, November 19 so students will not receive the full allotment of points and swipes. Students will be able to use their points at all open venues even though the meal plan will not be in effect during the times campus is closed. Students will also be able to use Moc Bucks if they have any available.

Wynee’s last meal is lunch on Tuesday, November 20.
Wynee’s reopens for dinner on Sunday, November 25.

Winter Break

Communities Close

Housing closes for Winter Break 12/13/18 at 12pm/noon EST

  • Residents returning for Spring semester must depart campus for Winter Break by the time of Housing Closing unless have been approved for break stay by Community Living.
  • All Spring Withdrawals, Transfers, and Study Abroad/Internships must complete move out by 12/13/18 at 12pm/noon EST unless have received an approved extension from Community Living professional staff- Residents must check out with a Resident Advisor.
  • December Graduates must complete move out by 12/16/18 at 12pm/noon EST unless have received an approved extension from Community Living professional staff- Graduates will utilize the Express Checkout process.

Communities Open

Communities Reopen: Sunday, January 6 at noon

  • Only Apartments and Houses residents are eligible be approved to stay for the entire break for a $150 fee.
  • All other communities are only able to apply to stay for Winter Break on an as-needed basis and are subject to fees of $25 per night or the $150 full break fee.
  • Residents completing approved moves with Community Living will not be charged any late stay fees for their approved move timeline.  If any resident requests to stay beyond their move timeline, they will still be subject to the prorated fee of $25 per night or the entire break stay fee of $150.
  • If a resident needs to stay for break due to Athletics, on-campus employment, or Faculty need, Coach/Supervisor/Faculty must contact Page Valtinson at pvaltinson@flsouthern.edu to request break stay approval.  Anyone approved for break stay by request of Athletics/Supervisor/Faculty will not be charged for that break stay time.  If resident requests to stay beyond their requested time, they will still be subject to the prorated fee of $25 per night or the entire break stay fee of $150.

End of Semester Moves

  • Residents working with Community Living professional staff on moving housing assignments for the Spring Semester will be notified of their moving timeline by Community Living.

There is a $150 charge for winter break and an additional $15 late fee if received after deadline.
