LECOM EAP

The Early Acceptance Program (EAP) with Lake Erie College of Medicine (LECOM) allows high school or current FSC students to apply to LECOM medical, dental or pharmacy school. (Students who meet the requirements in high school are conditionally accepted into both FSC and LECOM’s programs simultaneously.) Those who meet all the academic requirements while earning their undergraduate degrees will be guaranteed acceptance into Lake Erie’s graduate medical program at its campuses in Pennsylvania and Florida.

Medical Program

Available tracks: 4+4 & 3+4

Students may choose any of the following three campuses to complete their studies:  Bradenton, FL; Erie, PA; or Greensburg, PA.  Either track chosen will lead to the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree (D.O.).

Dental Program

Available tracks: 4+4

The Bradenton, FL campus at LECOM offers the four-year dentistry program and graduates will receive a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (D.M.D.).

Pharmacy Program

Available tracks: 4+, 3+, online

LECOM offers a three-year and four-year track at its Erie, PA and Bradenton, FL campuses, respectively.  Furthermore, a four-year Distance Learning Pathway, with the majority of the coursework completed online, is also available for the Pharmacy program.  All three tracks lead to the Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.).

Admissions Requirements

To qualify for the BS+DO/PharmD/DMD program, you must meet the following criteria.

If applying as a high school student:

  • minimum 26 ACT for 4+ program; minimum 28 ACT for 3+ program
  • minimum 1240 SAT (ERW+M) or minimum 1180 SAT (CR+M) for 4+ program; minimum 1340 SAT (ERW+M) or minimum 1280 SAT (CR+M) for 3+ program 
  • High school GPA of 3.5 or higher for 4+ program; high school GPA of 3.7 or higher for 3+ program
  • Interviews may be required, depending on the program

If applying as a current FSC student:

  • completed at least 30 credit hours as a full-time student
  • not accumulated more than 65 post-secondary credit hours
  • post-secondary cumulative overall GPA of 3.4 or higher & a post-secondary cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher 
  • Interviews may be required, depending on the program

Application Process

For Students Entering FSC from High School

  1. Apply for admission to LECOM: https://lecom.edu/admissions/entrance-requirements/early-acceptance-programs/
  2. Apply for admission to Florida Southern College
  3. LECOM will send acceptances to applicants and colleges in early spring each year.
  4. If an accepted applicant wants to attend Florida Southern College (and lists it as a school in their LECOM EAP application), they will need to submit their admissions deposit to the FSC Admissions Office by April 15th to secure their seat in the LECOM/FSC EAP* program. Students who do not submit their admissions deposit by April 15th release their seat in the LECOM/FSC EAP program.
*By joining our program, you agree to adhere to all program criteria and maintain eligibility. This includes, but is not limited to, taking required coursework and meeting strict GPA requirements.  You must enroll in the EAP as a full-time student and remain enrolled for at least two consecutive years before matriculation to LECOM.  You also must register for at least 14 credit hours each semester at FSC, and you are not allowed to take required courses over the summer. As a reminder, you may not apply to any other professional program except for LECOM. 
 

For Current FSC Undergraduates

  2. Complete the Application for the FSC-LECOM Early Acceptance Program* (based on program of interest)
