Date for next year to be announced.

All Florida Southern College students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to attend the third annual Health & STEM Career & Internship Showcase. The event will feature a variety of employers promoting part-time & full-time jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities. Additionally, students who participated in professional observation experiences, research experiences, volunteer activities, and summer programs will have the opportunity to present about their experiences via a poster presentation.

FSC students will present on their co-curricular experiences including the search process, their responsibilities, what they learned from the experience, and how they have applied their experience to their Florida Southern College education. Presenters will display information regarding their experience on posters that will be displayed on the walls of Honeyman.

Employers with opportunities specifically for STEM majors and students interested in health professions will be present to promote their:

  • full-time and part-time jobs
  • internships
  • volunteer experiences

Student & Alumni Cost: FREE

RSVP: Not required. Students and alumni may drop-in during the event hours to mingle with presenters, review informational posters, and chat with representatives at table stations throughout the showcase. Business casual dress is recommended.

For Student Presenters

Did you participate in a co-curricular experience (such as an internship, career related part-time job, REU, professional observation experience, or volunteer experience) in Spring 2019 or Summer 2019? Are you currently participating in an activity in Fall 2019? If so, you are invited to present at the Health & STEM Career & Internship Showcase!

Benefits of presenting:

  • Great way to share your experience (and expertise) with the FSC community
  • Opportunity to practice articulating the benefits and skills acquired during your co-curricular experience (something you will need to do for job interviews and graduate school/professional school interviews)
  • Can add a presentation experience to your resume or LinkedIn
  • You will feel good about helping your fellow FSC peers learn about exciting co-curricular experiences they may never have considered
  • Each presenter receives a fun gift!

I am interested in presenting, what do I need to know?

Each presenter will be asked to create a brief poster presentation regarding their experience. If you have participated in more than 1 experience, we kindly ask that you pick one activity to showcase. Your poster should include information about the presenter, about the company/organization, about your daily activities, and what you learned through the experience. The templates below provide examples of how to outline this information on your poster. Presenters will be asked to stand with their posters throughout the event so they are available to answer questions regarding their experience.

Posters may be printed free of charge on campus (once you sign-up below you will be provided more details on the printing process). You are able to use any 36" x 48" poster layout that you wish but, for your convenience, some possible poster templates are provided for your use below:

For Employers & Companies

We are currently searching for employers/organizations to table at our event. This is a great opportunity for you to publicize part-time and full-time jobs, internships, volunteer opportunities, and upcoming events to our highly-talented students majoring in biology, chemistry, exercise science, computer science, nursing, or mathematics or those students on a pre-health track. Students on a pre-health track are those pursuing professional programs such as medical school, dental school, etc.

For 2019, we are pleased to be able to waive the employer registration fee. Each organization will be provided with an 8ft table and 2 chairs. Linens are available upon request.

You are welcome to decorate your table and bring promotional materials to market your organization/available positions (internships, volunteer positions, part-time jobs, etc.).

Tabling sign-up will close on October 24th. Please email lalbaum@flsouthern.edu with questions.
