All students will begin the program in the Foundation Courses, which ensure a strong foundation in education, before entering advanced MAT-level classes.
Florida Southern College reserves the right to revise fee schedules.
Any MAT courses attempted in the fall or spring semesters before receiving the undergraduate degree will be charged at the traditional undergraduate full-time tuition rate. Graduate courses taken after the student receives their undergraduate degree will be billed at the current MAT per credit hour rate.
*Tuition will be paid at the beginning of each semester based on credit hours.
This program is 100% online excluding the capstone internship which is completed in a Polk County Public School. However, most students receive their Professional Teaching Certificate and transfer into the Master of Education in Transformational Curriculum and Instruction program where no internship is required.
A student is considered full-time when taking a minimum of 8 credit hours at the graduate level.
This degree will strengthen your skills as a classroom teacher as well as provide you with more options regarding your career path in other district level positions, higher level education teaching positions and the opportunity in a doctoral level degree program.
Most students complete the program coursework in as few as three semesters then complete the internship in the fourth semester.
Yes, all MAT students must complete the FTCE within the first 12 credit hours in the program.
