We smile at the opportunity to help you foster the skills you’ll need to succeed in dental school and beyond.
In partnership with one of the nation’s most renowned medical colleges, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), qualified students are granted priority admission into Lake Erie’s dental program.
We provide all the academic courses dental schools require for admissions, and classes that will help you succeed on the DAT.
Our Pre-Professional programs will guide you in your quest to become a dentist. You will be paired with an advisor who knows what it takes to achieve your goals.
Most students entering dental school have significant research experience. At Florida Southern College, all students majoring in the natural sciences have an opportunity to do original research of their own design.
Our extracurricular experiences will help broaden your knowledge and understanding of the world around you. Junior Journeys, internships, shadowing and research.
Students find many opportunities in and around the city of Lakeland, as well as across the country and even internationally to gain experience. One of our most popular venues is Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine (LVIM), a facility only ten minutes from campus that allows students to experience firsthand many aspects of providing dental care to the working uninsured in Polk County. Local dentists, orthodontists and oral surgeons have provided excellent shadowing opportunities for our students. Outside of Florida, students have interned at various facilities across the country, and have traveled overseas on dental mission trips to places such as Nicaragua.
