Each year, the George W. Jenkins Scholarship provides five academically talented students the opportunity to study at Florida Southern College free of economic encumbrances.
Applicants must demonstrate exceptional financial need and be U.S. citizens, legal residents of the State of Florida, and graduates of a Florida high school entering Florida Southern College as first-time freshmen.
Minimum requirements for consideration are a high school grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale in college preparatory subjects and Medallion Level Bright Futures eligibility.
Records of participation and leadership in school or community organizations, evidence of a strong work ethic, and the motivation to succeed are important factors. Students who have overcome significant economic obstacles, while achieving academic and personal goals, will receive special consideration.
In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must first apply and be accepted to Florida Southern College. Also note: All application materials must be received on or before March 15.
