Admission to the MLS Program

The MLS Program is a selective, direct-admit program and the minimum criteria must be met to be considered for admission to the program.

Students who apply to Florida Southern College and indicate an interest in pursuing a Medical Laboratory Sciences degree, and who meet the requirements outlined below, will be automatically considered for admission once they have been admitted to the College.

  1. Minimum ACT score of 24 OR Minimum SAT score of 1100.
  2. If you are transferring greater than 19 college credits, you must meet all requirements for direct entry, including completion of at least four prerequisite courses including BIO 1500, BIO 1600, CHE 1111 and CHE 1112 all with a grade of C or higher, and having an overall GPA of 3.0 with a C or better in all major and prerequisite courses.
