First-year Merit Scholarships

Named for long-time college benefactors, these merit-based awards provide the most dedicated and talented students the opportunity to study at one of the nation’s best private colleges.

You will be considered automatically for these scholarships when you apply for admission.

E. T. Roux Scholarship

From $5,000 to $8,500 per year

Edna Mae Pearce Lockett Scholarship

From $7,000 to $11,500 per year

Thad G. Buckner Scholarship

From $8,000 to $13,000 per year

Lucius P. Ordway Scholarship

From $10,000 to $15,000 per year

Emile E. Watson Scholarship

From $11,000 to $17,000 per year

William H. Danforth Scholarship

From $11,500 to $18,000 per year

Henry and Annie Merner Pfeiffer Scholarship

From $12,500 to $20,000 per year

Transfer Merit Scholarships

Florida Southern recognizes the academic accomplishments of transfer students who have earned at least 25 transferable credits.

  • Up to $16,500* with a minimum 3.75 GPA
  • Up to $15,500* with a minimum 3.50 GPA
  • Up to $14,500* with a minimum 3.25 GPA
  • Up to $13,500* with a minimum 3.00 GPA
  • Up to $12,000* with a minimum 2.75 GPA

* To receive the total amount you must live on campus.

Phi Theta Kappa Award

We are proud to offer qualifying Phi Theta Kappa members a special scholarship who have earned an Associate of Arts degree and have a 3.2 cumulative minimum GPA. This award may be combined with the Transfer Academic Recognition Scholarship Award.

Students receiving first-year scholarships are not eligible for the PTK award.

Other Scholarships

Prestige Scholarships

Prestige Scholarships are Florida Southern’s most esteemed scholarships. Students interviewing for these scholarships represent the top ten percent of FSC’s applicant pool.

Departmental Scholarships

We award departmental scholarships to students pursuing certain academic programs - including business, nursing, music, and education.

Faith-based Scholarships

Scholarship opportunities are available for those students pursuing careers in Christian ministry, education and healthcare.

Special Interest Scholarships

A variety of scholarships are available to students who meet a designated set of criteria, such as the Hazel Haley and Buelah Kahler scholarships.
