Where are you from?

Tampa, Florida

What’s your favorite spot on Florida Southern’s campus?

It’s always fun wandering over to the library to see the Water Dome — especially when you catch the fountain sprout at its highest point.

What drew you to Florida Southern?

I love that Florida Southern is such a welcoming, friendly place for visitors, students, and employees alike. It’s easy to feel like a part of the Florida Southern family!

What do you enjoy most about working with students?

Students’ energies are infectious — they’re always brimming with exciting ideas and plans for the future. Students are a great reminder to take advantage of all the opportunities around us and to bring that energy to every aspect of our lives.

Describe a perfect Saturday in Lakeland.

I would kick off the day by exploring the Farmers Market before heading to Lake Hollingsworth to go kayaking. I’d grab lunch at Black and Brew and spend the afternoon wandering around downtown before catching a movie at the Silver Moon Drive-In!

What are your favorite hangouts or restaurants in Lakeland?

Black and Brew and the Purple Onion are always great options, but you can’t go wrong with any of the local restaurants downtown!

Any hobbies or outside interests?

I love reading (especially memoirs!), writing, and catching up with friends over tea. As a native Floridian, it always makes me happy to discover new spots in the Sunshine State…I love exploring my own backyard.

What’s something that would surprise people about you?

I lived in Paris twice — first to study abroad my junior year of college, and then to work as a nanny for two little French girls. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to explore the city and master my French skills. I can’t get enough of the City of Lights!
