Why should I take FSC Summer Session classes?
Here are 6 reasons why you should take summer classes at FSC.
How many summer sessions are offered this year?
Three sessions are offered this year. Session A is 5 weeks. Innovative courses are offered in the A and B sessions. Session B is also five weeks and starts at the conclusion of session A. Session C is a 10-week session that overlaps both sessions A and B.

I’d like to complete my degree in three years using the Summer Session. Is this possible?
FSC has outlined a 3-year graduation schedule for majors in Biology, Business, Advertising and Public Relations, Education and Psychology. Please visit the Summer Program webpage for more details.
What are the date, times and holidays for Summer Session A 2012?
Session A – (5 weeks) May 2 – June 6
Class meeting: 2 ¼ hours per day, 5 days per week for 5 weeks
Class times: 8:30AM – 10:45AM; 11:00AM – 1:15PM
Holiday: Monday May 28th, 2012 Memorial Day
What are the dates, times and holidays for Summer Session B 2012?
Summer Session B – (5 weeks) June 7 – July 12
Class meeting: 2 ¼ hours per day, 5 days per week for 5 weeks

What are the dates, times and holidays for Summer Session C 2012?
Summer Session C – (10 weeks) (May 2 – July 12)
Class meeting: 1 hr and 50 minutes per day, 3 days per week for 10 weeks (M/W/F); or 2 hrs and 45 minutes per day, 2 days per week for 10 weeks (T/TH)
Class times: M/W/F 1:30 PM – 3:20PM; T/TH 1:30PM – 4:15 PM
Holidays: Monday May 28th, 2012 Memorial Day and Wednesday, July 4th, 2012– Independence Day
How do I purchase textbooks for the FSC Summer Session?

What are the costs for taking courses in the Summer Session 2012?
Take advantage of the reduce rates in the summer. The per credit hour cost for the Summer Session is significantly discounted from the typical Fall and Spring rate.
(Tuition and fees for Summer Session 2012 may be increased at the discretion of the FSC Board of Trustees).

What financial aid is available?
Summer Pell grants were available the previous two summers. This program was based upon student enrollment status and need. This summer the Federal government discontinued this program. Generally no Pell funding will be available. However, if a student did not use their full Pell, that payment may be available for summer attendance. I’m not an FSC student and would like to enroll in a class at FSC and transfer it back to my home institution. How do I enroll?
If you are a degree-seeking student at another institution but would like to take summer courses at FSC to transfer back to your home institution (you are considered a Transient Student), please complete the Program Application and submit a “Transient Student Permission Form” (from your home institution) to the FSC, Office of Admission. The Transient Permission Form must indicate the specific courses which you have been approved to take, and it must be signed by an appropriate individual at your home (current) institution. Be sure to attend the registration session as listed above.

I’m applying to FSC and will start in the Fall Semester. How can I enroll in the Summer Session 2012 classes?
If you plan to enroll at FSC as a new freshman or you are a transfer student entering during the summer, you should complete the Application for the Summer Program and the FSC Application for Admission. In addition, all necessary transcripts, test scores, and other supporting documentation must be received and processed by the Office of Admissions prior to your enrollment. Be sure to attend the registration session as listed above.
I’m seeking teacher certification, recertification or an add-on certification. How do I enroll in courses offered over the summer?
If you are planning to take course to renew or add on to a current teaching certificate simply complete the Application for Summer Program and provide a photocopy of your current teaching certificate. Be sure to attend the registration session as listed above.

How do I cancel a course in which I am enrolled prior to the course start date?
You must notify the Registrar’s Office (863)680-4127 or via e-mail at registrar@flsouthern.edu PRIOR to the first day of class for any course registration. Failure to do so may result in financial and academic penalties. Course cancellations may not be accomplished via the FSC Portal, you must notify the Registrar’s office as described above.
How do I drop or withdraw from a course I am enrolled in once the class starts?
Once classes have started, students may drop a summer course or withdraw by submitting a completed drop form to the Registrar’s Office by the following dates:

Is campus housing available for this summer? What is the cost for campus housing?
Yes, but housing this year is limited. Please make sure to make you apply for housing early. To apply for housing indicate your interest on the summer program application. The cost for housing is described above.

Can I stay in the same room that I lived in during the Spring Term?
No. All residence hall rooms are thoroughly cleaned between sessions. You will be assigned a different room for the summer sessions.
What food services will be available? What are my options for meals?
Two meal plan options (3-A–Day plan, 1-A-Day plan) are available for students this summer. Wynee’s will be closed for Session A and will be open for Session B. Expanded meal options will be available in the College Terrace along with a Grill Menu to provide more variety at each meal period. Freshens, Moc Mart and Tutu’s will all be open during all summer sessions.

For student attending Session C (May 2 – July 12) must purchase 2 plans, one for Session A and one for Session B.
Students may also purchase a dollar amount (Moc Bucks) at the business office, to be place on their ID cards to supplement their meal plan or to be used in place of a meal plan. Moc Bucks can be used on campus in any food service venue, bookstore, or for resident student’s laundry.
What are the technical requirements for taking an online course with Florida Southern College?
Online technical requirements may be found here (Click here to view technical requirements). We also request that you view the program tutorials prior to or during enrollment.
Who do I contact for technical support during enrollment in an online course?
Students needing assistance should first contact their instructor. If the problem cannot be resolved at the instructor level, students may contact the Help Desk at 863.680.4212.
When are students required to have all their work completed?
During the summer sessions submission of all course assignments is due by 5:00 p.m. on the last scheduled day of class.
When can I logon and view the online course syllabus and course materials?
Students can log on and view the course 14 days prior to the schedule course starting date.
How do I obtain a password and user ID# to log on to FSC’s Portal (Online Course Management System)? Please complete the following form (to the right) and your password will be returned by e-mail within 24 hours.
