The Advantages of Greek Life

Potential new members -- commonly known as rushees -- must go through a recruitment process, traditionally known as rush.

FriendshipFriendship. As a member of the Greek community, you will have the opportunity to meet students of various backgrounds with both similar and different interests. Within each chapter, there is a close bond of friendship and brotherhood that only the fraternity atmosphere can foster.

AcademicsAcademics. A primary purpose of the Greek community is to encourage and develop high scholastic achievement among its members.

LeadershipLeadership In the fraternity and sorority, you will be in “charge" of an event or a duty. Everyone in the fraternity and sorority is a leader, whether you’re an officer, on a committee, or just a participant.

Community ServiceCommunity Service. The Greek community at Florida Southern provides services to more than just members of fraternities. One of the many advantages of being a part of the Greek community is the time spent helping others in need. At Florida Southern, fraternities and sororities work side-by-side to help local or national charitable organizations.

Career NetworkingCareer Networking. Recently raduated or looking for a summer job? Using the resources of your chapter alumni, you may find that job you’re looking for.

Whether you are a natural leader, you want to cultivate your skills, or you just want to be involved, Greek life will help you develop your unique, individual potential.
