Welcome to the Evett L. Simmons Center for Multicultural Awareness

Global learning environment for students, expanding cultural knowledge and experiences. The Simmons Multicultural Center provides a wide variety of educational, developmental, and social programs for all students.

We provide a variety of quality support services, plan and drive educational and entertaining cultural awareness programs, and provide leadership opportunities through student involvement and service. These programs serve as a vehicle for the college community to learn about some of the many volunteer opportunities in the community and the many cultures that are a part of our Florida Southern College family. This includes targeting services for our international and minority students.

The Simmons Center sponsors programs during nationally recognized celebratory months, as well as other times during the year, to highlight the various cultures represented on campus.

Keep a lookout for programs during these months

September Welcome Back Cookout
Hispanic Heritage Month
January Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration
February Black History Month
April International Awareness & Education Week

Simmons Center Building This past year not only did we receive a new name after a beloved trustee and alumni of Florida Southern but also a new office in a house that international and multicultural students love to call home.

In addition to administrative offices, the Simmons Multicultural Center is home to the Community Service office, the International Student Association, and the Multicultural Student Council.

Find it on the campus map.
