Clubs & Organizations 

Life at Florida Southern isn't just about what you do in the classroom.

With more than 80 student clubs and organizations, life outside the classroom can be just as engaging—take up chess, work for the student newspaper, volunteer, or be part of student government. And if there isn't a club that matches your interests, go ahead and start your own!

To help you find the organization that best suits your interests, student organizations are placed in the following broad categories:

Creative & Performing Arts

Mocappellas an a cappella singing group.

Mocettes is the FSC dance team.

Photography Club is an organization in which to learn, practice, and create photography.

The Undead Poets Society gives students a place to write creatively and to workshop the product of their creative writing endeavors.

Vagabonds educates students and the surrounding community about the theatrical activity on and around campus.

Cultural

Allies seeks to provide a safe place for students of all sexual orientations, promoting awareness and sponsoring a feeling of community.

International Student Association seeks to gather people from all over the world to build global friends for life.

Multicultural Student Council (MSC) seeks to empower and educate the community through change, diversity and involvement while bringing forth leaders and creating a bridge of unity and commitment.

Student Organization of Latinos (SOL) creates awareness of the Latino student population through social, volunteer and educational events

Women’s Advocacy Club educates and informs about the injustices directed towards women in today’s society and promotes action.

Departmental

Criminology Club exposes interested students to the diverse areas of criminology.

Elite Board of Students is an organization for outstanding business students which puts on networking events and provides access to small group discussions with CEOs and other important business leaders in the community.

French Club creates a space for students interested in the French language and culture and encourages participation in French speaking.

History Club provides an organization for students with a general interest in history and those who wish to excel within the history major.

Math Club is a club formed to promote the interest of math among students.

Philosophy Club operates as a community forum in which ideas and texts are explored in thought and action.

Psychology Club allows students to build leadership and communication skills while expanding their understanding and knowledge of psychology.

Spanish Club seeks to enrich our understanding of the Spanish language and culture through service and interaction.

Sport Management Club provides experience in the field of Sport Management.

ACE is a student-driven organization that provides quality entertainment for the entire Florida Southern campus community.

Alpha Epsilon Delta is a health profession honorary.

Alpha Phi Sigma is a criminology honor society.

Beta Beta Beta provides networking and service opportunities for biology majors.

Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business and universities.

Gamma Sigma Epsilon is a national honor society for students who excel in the field of chemistry.

Kappa Delta Pi provides opportunities and resources to educators at all stages of their education.

Kappa Mu Epsilon is a mathematics honor society that furthers the interest of undergraduate mathematics and helps realize the important role that mathematics has played in the development of Western civilization.

Lambda Pi Eta is a national communication honor society that recognizes, fosters and rewards outstanding scholastic achievement in communication studies.

Omicron Delta Kappa seeks to recognize those who obtained a high standard of efficiency in collegiate activities as leaders and scholars.

Order of Omega is a leadership honor society for members of Greek organizations.

Phi Eta Sigma is an honorary that encourages freshmen to establish a high GPA and academic excellence.

Pi Sigma Alpha is an honor society for college students of political science and government in the United States.

Psi Chi encourages, stimulates and maintains excellence in scholarship of members in all fields, particularly in psychology, and advances the science of psychology.

Sigma Tau Delta confers distinction for high achievement in English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate and professional studies.

Interest

Association of Honor Students serves as the liaison between students in the program and the governing faculty committee and strives to support its members with sponsored intellectual dialogue and simple camaraderie.

Chess Club brings chess playing opportunities to the Florida Southern community.

College Democrats promotes political awareness on the Florida Southern campus and in the Lakeland community as well as the ideals of the Democratic party.

College Republicans promotes political awareness on Florida Southern’s campus and in the Lakeland community as well as the ideals of the Republican party.

Enactus Business club with a focus on entrepreneurship.

Forensics seeks to grow confident public speakers in the field of competitive speech and debate. This multi-college organization trains students in speech and performance.

MEISA provides a forum for students participating in music industry education programs to interact with industry educators and representatives.

Model United Nations educates participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomats and UN agenda.

Nature Enthusiasts seeks to engage in activities outdoors and to learn more about nature.

Real Estate Club focuses on connecting business students with the Real Estate community.

Roosevelt Institute affiliated with the Roosevelt Institute Campus Network, a policy think tank to engage students in healthy debate and political discourse.

Sports Medicine Society brings together athletic training students with the issues they encounter within the major.

Student Athletic Advisory Committee is an athletic advisory committee for the NCAA and FSC.

Students for a Sustainable Campus promotes and generates green events and programs.

Toastmasters provides a mutually supportive and positive learning environment for members to develop their oral communication and leadership skills.

Professional

American Advertising Federation (Ad Fed) works with a network of advertisers, agencies, media companies, and local advertising clubs to promote and protect the well being of advertising.

American Chemical Society A professional organization that seeks to connect students with an interest in chemistry to professionals and opportunities in the chemistry field.

Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity seeks to promote and support excellence in music and musicianship.

Florida Nursing Student Association advances the BSN Nursing major and provides an outlet of community, culture and service for future nurses to voice their values, purpose and vision while preparing for a life-changing career.

Florida Public Relations Association promotes the external education of Public Relations majors and those interested in public relations.

HOSA Health Occupation Students of America to engage students in the health professions.

Phi Alpha Delta unites students and teachers of the law with members of the Bench and Bar in a fraternal fellowship which is designed to advance the ideals of liberty and equal justice under law.

Phi Mu Alpha enriches the lives of music students and advances music in America.

Pre-Professional Society/AMSA creates an environment where students of like minds and similar aspirations in the medical field can exchange information and share experiences that brings them closer to their career goals.

Sigma Alpha promotes its members in all facets of agriculture and strengthens the bonds of friendship among them. It is the purpose of the members to strive for achievement in scholarship, leadership and service and to further the development of excellence in women.

Service

Best Buddies maintains one to one friendships with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Circle K International is a service organization formed to help the community through various service projects. It is part of an umbrella of organizations led by Kiwanis International.

Dance Marathon works to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network through a campus-wide dance event.

Habitat for Humanity promotes awareness, fundraising, advocacy, and construction of affordable low-income housing.

Rotaract seeks to put service above self in the Lakeland community and around the world while working alongside the Rotary Club of Lakeland.

TZeDeK raises awareness for social justice issues and to take action for them.

Up Til Dawn educates the campus and community about the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Cantilevers creates an annual journal of the arts.

Residence Hall Association serves as a voice of the halls and provides programming for residential students.

Student Government Association (SGA) empowers, communicates, and promotes unity through education and service in order to represent the student body.

Religious

Beyond offers a welcoming place for religious worship and friendly fellowship where people come to deepen their faith.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes provides fellowship and Bible study for Florida Southern students.

Jewish Student Association provides Florida Southern’s Jewish community with basic needs of Jewish life, informs other students about the religion, and fosters relationships with the community.

Newman Club provides students and members of the college community a home where they can strengthen their faith, discern the call of God, and grow into passionate Catholic leaders.

Wesley Fellowship is dedicated to Jesus Christ through worship, small groups, service and growth. A Christian organization, Wesley Fellowship is affiliated with the United Methodist Church but welcomes all.
