The FSC Science and Pre-Health Career and Internship Coordinator is here to ensure that Science and Pre-Health students receive the support, advice, and resources needed to build impressive personal narratives while meeting their graduate and professional goals.

Appointments are available year round and can be made through a student's Handshake account. Available appointment types include Pre-Health Advising*, Graduate School Advising, 
"Moc" Interviews, Application Reviews, Personal Statement Reviews, and more. 
*Students must attend a pre-health 101 workshop to be eligible to schedule a pre-health advising appointment.

Meet the Career and Internship Coordinator

Lauren Albaum, M.Ed.

Lauren Albaum is a Tampa Bay native who joined the Florida Southern College community in 2016. Mrs. Albaum brought a wealth of knowledge to the Career and Internship Coordinator position through her prior experiences developing and running a Health Professions Advising office, counseling students as a Chemistry Advisor, and working in various administrative and teaching positions across 6 different institutions of higher education. Mrs. Albaum earned a Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance from the Florida State University, a Masters of Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina, a Graduate Certificate in College Teaching from the University of South Florida, and is a doctoral candidate in Curriculum and Instruction at USF. Outside of work, you can find Lauren performing with the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, volunteering with the Junior League of Lakeland, and spending time with her husband, Kevin, daughter, Nina, and Goldendoodle, Brinkley.
