In an increasingly competitive job market, students majoring in Biology, Chemistry, and Pre-Health areas must develop robust profiles highlighting academic competence, maturity, skill acquisition, and career passion/insight throughout their undergraduate years. The FSC Science and Pre-Health Career and Internship Coordinator is here to ensure that Science and Pre-Health students receive the support, advice, and resources needed to build impressive personal narratives while meeting their graduate and professional goals.

Appointments available year round and can be made up to 24 hours in advance, space pending for Science Consultations, Pre-Health Advising, "Moc" Interviews, Application Reviews, Personal Statement Reviews,  Resume Reviews, and more.

Important Information about Fall 2017 & Spring 2018 Appointments: The Science and Pre-Health Career and Internship Coordinator will be out of the office on maternity leave from November 2017 until February 2018. Appointment requests for time-sensitive concerns will be considered for October on a first come, first serve basis. Any student wishing to request an appointment for October should email explicitly indicating their appointment need, including why their request is time sensitive. Students with questions should review the comprehensive information available on this website and are encouraged to email inquiries to Appointments for February 2018 are expected to become available in mid to late January 2018.

Meet the Career and Internship Coordinator

Lauren Albaum, M.Ed.

Lauren Albaum is a Tampa Bay native who joined the Florida Southern College community in 2016. Mrs. Albaum brought a wealth of knowledge to the Career and Internship Coordinator position through her prior experiences developing and running a Health Professions Advising office, counseling students as a Chemistry Advisor, and working in various administrative and teaching positions across 6 different institutions of higher education.  Mrs. Albaum earned a Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance from the Florida State University, a Masters of Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina, a Graduate Certificate in College Teaching from the University of South Florida, and is a doctoral candidate in Curriculum and Instruction at USF. Outside of work, you can find Lauren performing with the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, volunteering with the Junior League of Lakeland, and spending time with her husband, Kevin, and Goldendoodle, Brinkley.
