Each semester, Florida Southern offers a free GRE prep course to all applicants – the only cost to you is the study book!

How it Works

1

Step 1

Students must be currently enrolled at Florida Southern College, or in the process of applying to one of the graduate programs.

Step 2

Students will attend a mandatory Diagnostic Orientation to test their current skills and learn what sections need work.

3

Step 3

Students will sign up for writing, verbal, or quantitative workshops based off their needs.

Prep Course Schedule

Week 1

Thursday: Required Diagnostic Orientation
(3 hours; 6 – 9 PM)

  • Review test structure
  • Allow for time to alleviate anxieties about testing
  • Diagnostic survey via Survey Monkey in Christoverson computer lab
  • Students complete an essay in last hour of diagnostic training
  • Students sign up for section workshops

Saturday: Writing + Verbal I Workshop
(4 hours; 9 AM – 12 PM)

  • Review essay
  • Learn necessary writing skills for GRE
  • Assign second essay

Week 2

Thursday: Verbal II Workshop
(2 hours; 6 – 8 PM)

  • Review essay
  • Learn necessary writing skills for GRE

Saturday: Writing II Workshop
(2 hours; 9 – 11 AM)

  • Instructor led verbal section training

Week 3

Thursday: Quantitative I Workshop
(3 hours; 6 – 9 PM)

  • Instructor led quantitative section training
  • Assign homework

Saturday: Quantitative II Workshop
(4 hours; 9 AM – 1 PM)

  • Review homework
  • Instructor led quantitative section training
