All lectures are presented in the Anne MacGregor Jenkins Recital Hall on the campus of Florida Southern College unless otherwise noted. This auditorium, housed within the Robert A. Davis Performing Arts Center, is adjacent to both the John Branscomb Memorial Auditorium and the Honeyman Pavilion where Roberts Center receptions and book signings are held. The closest parking lot is on Johnson Avenue which is on the west side of the campus.

Drs. Bennett and Sally Shaywitz, Dyslexia: Current Trends
Author of the book "Overcoming Dyslexia" and co-directors of the Yale Center for Dyslexia and Creativity, Drs. Sally and Bennett Shaywitz are among the world’s leading researchers in the field of dyslexia.
An hors d’oeuvres reception at 6:00 p.m. in the Honeyman Pavilion is followed by the lecture at 7:00 p.m. in the Anne MacGregor Jenkins Recital Hall adjacent to Branscomb Auditorium. A book signing follows the event, with books available for purchase.

When the Labels Don’t Fit: A New Approach to Raising a Difficult Child
Author of the book by the same title, Ms. Probst is a clinical social worker and educator, and argues that society is too quick to diagnose and label children who think and act outside the box as having a learning disorder. She presents fresh tactics for dealing with difficult children, including the mapping of a child’s core traits, and encourages parents to reframe their thinking to focus upon their child’s strengths.

Raising Gifted Kids: Everything You Need to Know to Help Your Exceptional Child Thrive
Author of seven books in the field of developmental psychology and education, including Raising Gifted Kids: Everything You Need to Know to Help Your Exceptional Child Thrive. Dr. Klein has worked with gifted children, their parents, and public and private schools in Los Angeles since 1986, and developed the initial parent education component for Head Start. Her private practice is dedicated to assisting the unique needs of gifted children. She holds a doctorate in clinical psychology.

Dr. Miller is one of the nation's leading researchers in the field of sensory integration disorders and its resulting research-based occupational therapy which specifically addresses such disorders. She works tirelessly to see sensory integration disorder recognized as a disability in the next revision of the Diagnostical and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
