The nineteenth most populated city in Florida, Lakeland is a blend of modern conveniences and diversions. It has recently been recognized nationally by  Money Magazine as the 10th "Best Place to Live in America" for medium-sized cities in the south. The city consists of over 90,000 people while more than 171,000 people live within a seven-mile radius of downtown Lakeland. Located only an hour from both Tampa and Orlando, Lakeland boasts a skilled workforce, strong economy, high economic development, lodging and convention facilities, quality health care, exceptional educational opportunities, and excellent transportation system and abundant leisure activities and cultural events.

Lakeland's Central Florida location, literally, makes both fun and work easily accessible. The major attractions of Walt Disney Word, Busch Gardens, Universal Studios, Sea World and Cypress Gardens are all ninety minutes or less away. The Gulf of Mexico beaches are less than ninety minutes to the west of Lakeland while the Atlantic Ocean beaches are further to the east.

Lakeland's cultural life includes The Lakeland Center, the historic Polk Theatre, the fully-accredited Polk Museum of Art, and the Sun-n-Fun Fly In Museum. In addition, Florida Southern College offers not only the largest one-site-collection of Frank Lloyd Wright Architecture in the world, but also internationally known performers as part of its Festival of Fine Arts Series.

Lakeland is also surrounded by pro sporting events. Numerous pro baseball teams hold spring training in Florida, including the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland. You can also enjoy pro football and hockey in Tampa and pro basketball, hockey and arena football in Orlando.
