FSC professor awarded
a place in
"Who's Who Among America's Teachers"
LAKELAND, Fla. (Dec. 5, 2003) - Florida
Southern College education professor Dr. Timothy R. Toops has been
included in the 8th Edition of "Who's Who Among America's Teachers,"
to be published in November 2004. Nominations may come only from
students who themselves are listed in Who's Who Among America's
High School Students or The National Dean's List, and students may
nominate only one teacher from their entire academic experience.
Toops was nominated by Megan Tagtow, a 2002 graduate who was recently
named "new teacher of the year" for her school district.
"I have enjoyed my teaching at FSC," Toops said. "I
love being a 'small' part in preparing FSC education majors to be
the best teachers possible." Toops, who specializes in elementary
education, has been with FSC since 2000. He received his master's
degree from Wright State University and his Ph.D. from Miami University.
