FSC business department awards announced

LAKELAND, Fla. (April 22, 2004) - The Florida Southern College business and economics department held its student awards ceremony April 15. The awards and recipients are listed below. 

Allen & Company Scholarship - Lindsey McKnight, a junior marketing management major. She is the daughter of William McKnight of Davenport, Fla. and Jennifer Blank of Haines City, Fla. 

Baylis & Company Scholarship - Christine Segura, a sophomore accounting major and daughter of Josefinal Campbell of Lakeland, Fla. and Ramon Segura of New York, N.Y.

Becker CPA Review Course Scholarship - Kathy Paight, a senior financial management major. She is the daughter of Donald and Nina Paight of Ft. Myers, Fla. 

C. Jeffery Wiley Memorial Scholarship - Rachel Wineland, a junior financial management major and daughter of Douglas and Lanny Wineland of Lakeland, Fla.

Carter, Belcourt & Atkinson Scholarship - Joseph Ryan Cahalan, a senior financial management major. He is the son of Joseph and Barbara Cahalan of Lakeland, Fla.

Chairman's Award (2) - Laura Hardy, a senior business major. She is the daughter of Steve Hardy of Valrico, Fla. and Linda McCormick of Lakeland, Fla.; and Brian Curry, a senior marketing management major. He is the son of Jay and Diane Curry of Lakeland, Fla. 

Citrus & Chemical Bank Scholarship - Alexisandria Collazo-Torres, a junior marketing management major. She is the daughter of Cindy Collazo of Lakeland, Fla., and Alberto Collazo.

Crystals International Award - Gina Kneser, a senior human resource management major and daughter of Glen and Betty Alioto of Milwaukee, Wisc. 

Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Key Award - Shannon Murray, a senior accounting and mathematics major and daughter of David and Cheryl Murray of North Ft. Myers, Fla. 

Delta Sigma Pi Brother of the Year - Ching Man Wan, a senior accounting major from Hong Kong. 

Denis L. Fontaine Memorial Scholarship (4) - Lauren Creamer, a junior hotel management major and daughter of Steven and Teresa Creamer of Hooksett, N.H.; Rica Davis, a junior human resource management major and daughter of Robin Davis of Lithia, Fla., and Sharon Davis; Kacie Rogers, a sophomore accounting major and daughter of David and Beverly Rogers of Venice, Fla.; and Ryan Scully, a freshman financial management major and son of Robert and Deborah Scully of Sarasota, Fla. 

F.I.C.P.A. Scholarship Nominee (2) - Justin Goss, a junior accounting major and son of William and Marilyn Goss of Wauchula, Fla.; and Erika Risley, a junior accounting major and daughter of David Risley of Poulsbo, Wash., and Dianne Odell of Vancouver, Wash. 

Institute of Management Accountants Award - Marianne Harder, a senior accounting major and daughter of Laura Harder of Auburndale, Fla. 

Kenneth Lee Martone Memorial Scholarship (2) - Amanda Jackson, a junior accounting major and daughter of Rickey and Tammy Jackson of Lakeland, Fla.; and Dixie Switzer, a junior paralegal major and daughter of Michael and Laura Switzer of Duluth, Minn. 

Monte Thornton Scholarship - Jessica Davis, a sophomore financial management major and daughter of Clifford Davis of Tampa, Fla., and Cheryl Davis of Winter Haven, Fla.

Most Outstanding Accounting Major - Shannon Murray, a senior and daughter of David and Cheryl Murray of North Ft. Myers, Fla.

Most Outstanding Economics Major - Alvaro Nunez, a senior and son of Mena Pedro Nunez and Redondo Regodon of Caceres, Spain.

Most Outstanding Management Major - Shannon Murray, a senior and daughter of David and Cheryl Murray of North Ft. Myers, Fla.

Most Outstanding Scholar Athlete - Peter Schiebel, a senior computer information systems major and son of Frederick and Donna Schiebel of Lakeland, Fla. 

Outstanding Business Achievement - Steve Kintz, a senior financial management major from Plant City, Fla.

Outstanding MBA Achievement (4) - Felicia Baldick, a December 2003 graduate in accounting and daughter of Stuart and Linda Baldick of Lakeland, Fla.; Ashli Burkhart, a December 2003 graduate in accounting and daughter of Raymond and Donna Burkhart of Jacksonville, Fla.; Benjamin Fairchild, a December 2003 graduate in accounting and son of Frank Fairchild and Kathryn Fairchild of Lakeland, Fla.; and Stephen Floyd, a graduate business major from Lakeland, Fla.

Renee Turbeville Memorial Scholarship - Christoph Barnett, a senior music performance major and son of Curtis and Christine Barnett of Grand Cayman Island. 

Rita Staffing Scholarship - Kassandrea Staats, a sophomore computer information systems major and daughter of Andrea Staats of Lakeland, Fla., and Roy Staats. 

Wall Street Journal Award - John Kraus, a senior marketing management major and son of Ronald Kraus of Albert Lea, Minn., and Linda Waggie of St. Peter, Minn.
