FSC symphony and
jazz bands performs
LAKELAND, Fla. (Oct. 14, 2002) - Florida Southern College presents
"Music Under the Stars" featuring the FSC symphony and jazz bands.
The performance takes place Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Pipkin Bandshell
on campus.
Conductors Jo Jossim and Brian Brink lead the bands through a light-hearted,
upbeat evening of music. Symphony band selections include "American
Overture" by Joseph W. Jenkins, "Choral and Shaker Dance" by John
Zdechlik; "Them Basses" by Getty H. Huffine, "Incantation and Dance"
by John Chance, and "Beautiful Colorado" by Joseph De Luca. Jazz
selections will include works by Oliver Nelson, Horace Silver, Steve
Allen, Duke Ellington, Richard Rodgers, Lennon and McCartney and
Chick Corea.
Admission is free with open seating. In the event of rain, the performance
will be held in Branscomb Auditorium.
