Student Government Association elects new officers
LAKELAND, Fla. (March
28, 2003) - Florida Southern's Student Government Association has
elected new officers for the coming year. The students were elected
by their fellow students in spring elections.
President - Cathalain "Cat" Tobin, a sophomore math major.
She is the daughter of Richard and Deborah Tobin of Peoria, Ariz.
Executive Vice President - Emma Depew, a sophomore political
science major. She is the daughter of Michael and Kathleen Depew
of Gotha, Fla.
Academic Vice President - Allison Elliott, a junior humanities
major. She is the daughter of Ronald and Nancy Elliott of Jacksonville,
Fla.
Vice President of Activities - Luke Thompson, a sophomore
majoring in business administration. He is the son of William and
Ann Thompson of Jacksonville, Fla.
Vice President of Finance - Earl "Ross" Berling, a sophomore
business administration major. He is the son of Earl and Theresa
Berling.
Student Advocate: Erin Smith, a sophomore biology major.
She is the daughter of Kenneth and Saralyn Smith of Lakeland, Fla.
Secretary - Jennifer Stuart, a senior majoring in education
and psychology. She is the daughter of Gary Turner of Springfield,
Mass. and Theresa Chinchilla.
Social Science Senators (3) - Daniel Lauk, a sophomore economics
major and son of William and Virginia Lauk of Lakeland, Fla.; Lindsey
McKnight, a sophomore business administration major and daughter
of William McKnight of Davenport, Fla. and Jennifer Blank of Haines
City, Fla.; Natalie Rose, a freshman business administration major
and daughter of Dominic Rose and Deborah Rose of Lititz, Pa.
Natural Science Senators (2) - Mary Caroniti, a junior biology
major and daughter of Jim Caroniti of Bradenton, Fla. and Shanon
Motiwalla of Lawrenceville, Fla.; Biljana Cokovik, a sophomore computer
science and math major, and daughter of Boris and Roza Cokovic of
Skopje, Macedonia.
Humanities Senators (2) - Melissa Cofta, a freshman communications
major and daughter of Gary Cofta of Winter Spring, Fla. and Gail
Cofta of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Stephen Kissinger, Jr., a junior
religion major and son of Stephen and Debra Kissinger of Orlando,
Fla.
