Bobby McFerrin performs
at Festival of Fine Arts
LAKELAND, Fla. (Feb. 10,
2003) - Florida Southern College and the Festival of Fine Arts welcomes
Bobby McFerrin, world-renowned vocal-instrumental artist and classical
conductor, on Feb. 24. The concert takes place in Branscomb Auditorium
at 7:30 p.m.
McFerrin is a 10-time Grammy Award winner and one of the world's
best-known vocal innovators and improvisers. Creator of the popular
song, "Don't Worry, Be Happy," McFerrin's recordings have sold over
20 million copies. He has collaborated with both classical and jazz
artists, including Yo-Yo Ma, Chick Corea, the Vienna Philharmonic
and Herbie Hancock, and has worked with actor Jack Nicholson, comedians
Robin Williams and Billy Crystal, and the Muppets.
Tickets are $25. FSC students are admitted free of charge; non-FSC
