Florida Southern
hires new director of special gifts
LAKELAND, Fla. (July 16,
2003) — Florida Southern College has named Doris B. Lyons as director
of special gifts. A member of the college's advancement team, Lyons
is responsible for identifying and cultivating leadership annual
giving and major gifts prospects.
Lyons is pleased to be working with the FSC community. “I am looking
forward to meeting and working with alumni and community friends
of Florida Southern College,” said Lyons. “I hope to build an even
stronger financial foundation to support the future needs of the
college."
Lyons comes to FSC from Lakeland Vision, Inc. where she served as
executive director. The Lakeland native graduated from the University
of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in business administration,
marketing. A graduate of Leadership Lakeland, Lyons is a member
and past president of the Junior League of Greater Lakeland, a board
member of Lakeland Senior High School, and past board member of
Friends of the Museum, Historic Lakeland, Inc., and Girls Inc. of
Lakeland.

talent to this important position," said Robert H. Tate, Vice President
for Advancement. "We are pleased to have her as a member of our
advancement team."
