Ensemble
Versaille performs
for FSC Chamber Series
LAKELAND, Fla.
(March 29, 2002) - Florida Southern College welcomes the Ensemble
Versailles for a Chamber Series performance on April 12. The concert
starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Eleanor Searle Drawing Room of Joseph
Reynolds Hall on campus.
The historical
performance will give audiences the opportunity to hear a harpsichord,
viola de gamba - similar to a cello - and other early instruments,
performed by harpsichordist John Metz, gambist Barbara Bailey and
four of their colleagues.
"Historical
performance" is described by the Early Music America organization
as " music composed before our time, performed with historically
appropriate instruments and performance styles."
Tickets are
$10 at the door and $5 for non-FSC students. FSC students are admitted
