Chamber
Series features voice-and-guitar program
LAKELAND, Fla.
(Oct. 30, 2001) - The Florida Southern College Chamber Series presents
faculty guitarist Mark Switzer and his mezzo-soprano wife, Linda
Mule', in a voice-and-guitar program Sunday, Nov. 11. The performance
begins at 2:30 p.m. in the Anne MacGregor Jenkins Recital Hall on
the campus.
The duo presents
a program of all-Hispanic music by Spanish composers Albeniz, Granados,
and DeFalla, and South American composers Jobim and Bonfa. Switzer
says they prepared the program for Hispanic Heritage Month, traditionally
in October, "but we so love this music that we are doing the
concert for FSC in November."
Mule' is recognized
for her work in regional opera and as the director of the Florida
Arts School in Tampa. Switzer, an adjunct professor at Florida Southern,
has toured extensively in the United States and Europe with his
classical guitar.
Tickets are
$10 at the door and $5 for non-FSC students. FSC students are admitted
free of charge. For ticket information, please contact the Branscomb
Auditorium box office at (863) 680-4296.
