Southern College freshman
awarded $2,000 scholarship
LAKELAND, Fla.
(Dec. 4, 2001) - Florida Southern College freshman Courtney Connell
received a $2,000 scholarship from the Cecil Burnett/Betty White
Advanced Education Scholarship sponsored by the Children's Cancer
Center of Tampa, Fla. Scholarships are for undergraduate education
degrees and can be used for tuition, books, or living expenses.
Connell is majoring
in psychology. She is the daughter of Harvey "Joe" and
Martha Connell of Mulberry, Fla.
A community-based
organization, the Children's Cancer Center works with the medical
and psychosocial staff in the hospitals to create a supportive environment
for pediatric hematology/oncology patients and their families.
