Southern chemistry students participate
in National Chemistry Week
LAKELAND, Fla.
(Oct. 29, 2001) - The Florida Southern College student affiliate
of the American Chemical Society (ACS) will be participating in
National Chemistry Week Nov. 5-11.
Dr. Carmen Gauthier,
FSC chemistry professor, will take students to Bartow Elementary
on Nov. 7 to conduct demonstrations that depict the connections
between chemistry and art. The demonstrations begin at 12:30 p.m.
ACS celebrates
National Chemistry Week to help the public better understand the
nature and importance of chemistry. Venues for National Chemistry
Week events include learning facilities such as schools and universities,
libraries and museums, volunteer job sites, parks and shopping malls.
