Southern College graduate
awarded internship at Poynter Institute
LAKELAND, Fla.
(July 3, 2001) Florida Southern College graduate Jen McKibben
was selected to intern at the Poynter Institute, a journalism school
in St. Petersburg, Fla. The six-week fellowship includes a $1,950
stipend.
McKibben, who
graduated in April, will write for an on-line publication and receive
critiques from journalists on her writing and reporting skills.
McKibben was
a member of Phi Eta Sigma and Sigma Tau Delta, both international
honors societies. She edited Florida Southern's literary magazine
"Cantilevers," served as features editor on the student
newspaper, and participated in the Mechanicals, an art club at FSC.
McKibben is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McKibben, who reside in Alpharetta,
Ga.
