Classes for Teachers

General Information:

ADMISSION
Summer teacher workshop courses are open to all individuals holding a Bachelor's degree. These courses are designed to:

1) Assist teachers in recertifying in current areas of certification, and
2) Assist teachers wanting to add new areas of certification/endorsement.

Workshops are not intended for initial teacher certification for undergraduate students.

All courses in the announcement are for 3 hours college credit and have State of Florida Bureau of Certification approval for teachers holding a valid Florida Teaching Certificate.  HOWEVER, IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT TO DETERMINE WHICH COURSE(S) MEETS HIS OR HER SPECIFIC NEEDS.

All teachers must submit a copy of their teaching certificate, a current temporary teaching certificate, current letter of eligibility, or official transcripts from their baccalaureate institution.


REGISTRATION
Registration for the summer workshops for Orlando, Ocala and Brevard will be accepted by mail, fax or in person through June 5, 2008.  New students will need to complete an application and all the information on the registration form. Returning students complete only the relevant areas of the registration form.

If registering by mail, submit the appropriate form(s), along with either a check for the appropriate tuition ($570.00 PER COURSE ON OR BEFORE APRIL 1, $595 AFTER) or credit card information to:

Registration received later than June 5, 2008, will be assessed a $50.00 late fee. Space permitting, registrations will continue to be accepted one week prior to the beginning of class. Please include the $50.00 late fee with your payment.

Registration must be accompanied by payment. VISA and MasterCard are accepted. Credit card payments may be made by filling out the required information on the registration form.

Only complete, paid registrations are entered on the class roster. Full refund or transfer to another class is offered to each student if/when a class is canceled.

TEXTBOOKS
Textbook and material cost are in addition to registration fees.  Textbooks will be available on the first day of class at each site.  Please be prepared to purchase your textbook at that time.
   
CANCELLATION
Students may cancel registration from class by written request by the Thursday prior to each session for a full refund of fees. The FAX machine is on 24 hours a day. (FAX#: 407-240-4818).
   
WITHDRAWAL
Students may withdraw from class by written request. 100% refund will be given through the end of the third day of class.

ATTENDANCE
Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.

TRANSCRIPTS
Students wishing to have transcripts of their Teacher Workshop credits sent to other institutions or to the State Department of Education should submit a written request to the Registrar's Office prior to completion of course work.  Each transcript sent will cost $5.00. Transcripts for graduates of FSC are free. Transcripts cannot be released unless we have a complete file. (In order to complete your file, all teachers must submit a copy of their teaching certificate, a current temporary teaching certificate, current letter of eligibility, or official transcripts from their baccalaureate institution.)
