LAKELAND, Fla. (May 16, 2005) — Byron Hogan, a senior music performance major, was awarded the Reuter Scholarship at the annual Honors Convocation at Florida Southern College. The event, held April 20, brought recognition to numerous students in a variety of categories. Hogan is the son of Ronnie and Peggy Hogan of Lakeland, Fla.

The Reuter Scholarship Fund was established in honor of John R. Reuter by his parents, Paul B. and E. Louise Reuter. The fund is awarded solely based on academic achievement. Eligible students must be of ability and good character, board at the college, and maintain a 3.5 grade point average. Reuter award checks are given directly to the students to be used as they desire.
