LAKELAND, Fla. (Oct. 1, 2010) -- The Bartow Regional Medical Center Auxiliary has established a scholarship to be awarded annually to Florida Southern College nursing students.

The scholarship will be awarded to recipients who have been admitted into the FSC School of Nursing, and preference will be given to students who live in the Bartow, Fort Meade, or Mulberry areas.

The Bartow Regional Medical Center Auxiliary is a group of volunteers who work at the hospital in admitting, the front desk, and the gift shop. In total, the approximately 25 Auxiliary volunteers donate 10,000 hours annually to the hospital.

This years Bartow Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship in Nursing was awarded to Denise Renee Grutka, a senior from Lakeland who is employed by Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
