LAKELAND, Fla. (Aug. 24, 2010) -- Florida Southern College presents photographs by students taken during their 2010 study abroad trip to Italy. The exhibit is on display in the Melvin Art Gallery from Sept. 3 to 24. An opening reception takes place at 7 p.m. Sept. 3. The Gallery and reception are free and open to the public.

In May, Florida Southern students and faculty embarked on a study abroad tour of Italy. Thousands of photos were taken by students in the beginning and advanced digital photography classes taught by Professors Sam Romero, Eric Blackmore, and Kathy Blackmore. The photographs in this exhibition document their travels to Rome, Florence, Venice, and Tuscany. The selected images were edited, refined, and printed by the students.

The Melvin Art Gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and during intermissions of many performances of the FSC Festival of Fine Arts series. For more information, please contact the gallery at 863.680.4743.
