LAKELAND, Fla. (Feb. 19, 2010) -- Beginning March 5, Florida Southern College's Burks Gallery will exhibit a collection of photographs by FSC alumnus Dave Harmon, the official photographer for the richest race in the world, the Dubai World Cup. Harmon will return to FSC for a special reception beginning at 6 p.m. March 12 in the gallery. The public is invited.

Harmon, who graduated from Florida Southern in 1975, also has covered every race of the 36-day meets at Saratoga Race Course, the nations oldest thoroughbred track, as well as the Triple Crown races and the Breeders Cup. He is noted for his ability to capture the horses in full stride.

The exhibition runs through March 22. The Melvin and Burks Galleries are open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday when the College is in session, as well as during selected events of the Festival of Fine Arts series.
