FSC Director of Bands to Conduct Seminar at The Midwest Clinic

LAKELAND, Fla. (Dec. 14, 2009) — Dr. J. Jossim, FSC's director of bands, is one of seven music educators from around the nation, and the only one from Florida, who has been asked to conduct a seminar on rehearsal techniques this week at The Midwest Clinic in Chicago.

The Midwest Clinic is an international band and orchestra clinic that draws more than 15,000 music students, school band leaders, and professional musicians from around the United States and more than 30 other countries.

The Midwest Clinics rehearsal labs pair middle school and high school ensembles with noted technicians. Dr. Jossim will be demonstrating rehearsal techniques with a middle school band from Glenn Westlake Middle School in Lombard, Ill.

Dr. Jossim said she did not apply to lead a seminar at the prestigious clinic, but she was thrilled when asked to participate. I got a call this summer out of the blue, but I didnt hesitate for a second to do it!
