Women's Soccer Earns No. 3 seed in NCAA Tournament

For the first time in the history of womens soccer at Florida Southern, the Lady Mocs have earned a No. 3 seed in the South Region of the NCAA Soccer Tournament.

The team will play sixth-seeded Florida Tech at 7 p.m. Friday at Rollins College. The winner will play No. 2 seed Rollins at 1 p.m. Sunday at Rollins.

The women's soccer team just completed a stellar regular season, finishing second in the Sunshine State Conference. In the SSC Tournament's championship game, the Lady Mocs and Saint Leo were tied, 1-1, at the end of regulation and after two scoreless overtime periods. Saint Leo won, 3-2, in a shootout.

Five Mocs were named to the all-conference team: Princess Haley and Erin Hopkins were first-team selections, while Liz Gorman, Linda Hoglund and Ashlie Haas were on the second team. The five All-SSC selections were the most the Moccasins have had since the women's soccer program began.
