Wellness TV @ FSC
Airing October 13, Wellness TV @ FSC's most recent episode features reports on Sports & Gender, sweets and flip flop safety. Wondering how much exercise is too much? What you should be eating? What to do to relieve stress? Wonder no more. Covering a variety of health, fitness, and wellness topics, the student-produced series, Wellness TV @ FSC, will give you insider tips on how to get healthy and stay fit. Sponsored by the Healthy Campus Coalition, a peer education group designed to get students talking about health and wellness, along with the communication department, Wellness TV’s reporters seek to answer all your questions about living a healthier lifestyle. “Wellness TV @ FSC provides the College community with another avenue for information on wellness-related topics,” says Michael McElveen, assistant director of wellness programs. “The goal of the program is to stimulate positive self-awareness, educate students on healthy behaviors, and encourage a commitment to a holistic lifestyle.” Florida Southern is a nationally recognized wellness-centered campus, and students are challenged to develop mind, body, and spirit. “We embrace the wellness slogan,” says the show’s producer, senior Ryan Donovan, “and we believe Wellness TV can be a vital part of this movement.” With segments offering advice on everything from making better food selections to purchasing the right running shoes, Wellness TV strives to broadcast reports that are educational and practical. Featuring local experts in the areas of health and fitness, producers of the show strive to call attention to the many campus and community resources—helping students get the most out of the Florida Southern experience. “Whether staff members are reporting in the gym or in the Lakeland community, our aim is to provide students with enough information to think critically about lifestyle behaviors,” says Donovan, “helping to develop mind, body, and spirit, one show at a time!" |
