Florida Southern showcases works of Department of Art and Art History faculty and staff

LAKELAND, Fla. (Oct.8, 2008) — Florida Southern College’s Department of Art and Art History presents recent works in a variety of media from the department’s faculty and staff. “The 11th Hour Show” will be on display from Oct.10 through Nov. 12 in the Melvin Art Gallery on the FSC campus. The opening reception takes place Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.

The Department of Art and Art History has gained the reputation of being one of the strongest in the Southeast. Included in the exhibit will be works by William Otremsky, associate professor of art, coordinator of the department, and director of the Studio Program; Ligia Carvallo, assistant professor of art; Beth Ford, professor emerita; Joseph Mitchell, adjunct professor of art; Ryan Bailey, Samuel Romero, Robert Rosinsky, and Gregg Wortham, adjunct assistant professors of art; and Alyssa Paxson, director of the Melvin Art Gallery and business manager of the department. The public is invited to join the FSC community at the opening reception to hear from the artists.
