Florida Southern students earn high marks in national water ski event

LAKELAND, Fla. (June 4, 2008) — Three Florida Southern College students placed among the top competitors in the U.S. Masters ski tournament held at Calloway Gardens, Ga. on May 24-25. The water ski event is the most prestigious annual competition in the country.

Clementine Lucine, a senior communication major from Metz Tessy, France, came in second in tricks, fourth in jump and fourth in slalom. Lucine is ranked the number one three-event skier (slalom, trick and jump) in the world by the International Water Ski Federation. Alex Paradis, a sophomore math major from Quebec, came in second in the boys (13-17 years old) three-jump event. Marion Mathieu, originally from France and now residing in Lakeland, came in seventh in slalom and seventh in jump. Mathieu is a senior business administration major.
