Retiring choral director Larry Sledge conducts his final concert

LAKELAND, Fla. (March 12, 2008) — Florida Southern College and the Festival of Fine Arts present the FSC choral ensemble performing with the FSC symphony orchestra on March 26. The event takes place at 7:30 p.m. in Branscomb Auditorium on the FSC campus. Choral director Larry Sledge, who is retiring after 23 years as director of choral studies at Florida Southern, will conduct his final concert, a presentation of one of choral music’s greatest works: Brahms’s German Requiem.

He has served as a clinician and adjudicator for the Florida Vocal Association and American Choral Directors Association. With the ACDA he has served in a variety of leadership positions, most recently as regional president.

Tickets are $20. FSC students are admitted free of charge; non-FSC students pay half price. For ticket information, please contact the Branscomb Auditorium box office at (863) 680-4296.
