Florida Southern College hosts concert featuring musician Heatherlyn

LAKELAND, Fla. (Feb. 8, 2008) — Florida Southern College and the student-run social justice organization TZeDeK will host a concert by Minneapolis musician Heatherlyn on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. The live performance will be held at the Pipkin Bandshell on the Florida Southern campus. The concert is sponsored by www.knetwit.com.

Called “acoustic rock with soul,” Heatherlyn’s music is inspired by justice and equality, delivering a message of hope to people of all backgrounds and generations. Her stunning voice and whimsical, pensive lyrics encourage engagement and introspection.

Members of TZeDeK will be available during the concert to provide information about current global and domestic social justice issues including facts about free trade, upcoming legislative issues, protection of marine life and preservation of the world’s oceans. Participants will have the opportunity to sign petitions, write letters to executives, and register to vote.
