FSC Theatre Department presents "Isn't it Romantic"

LAKELAND, Fla. (Nov. 1, 2007) — Florida Southern College’s theatre arts department will present “Isn’t It Romantic,” by Wendy Wasserstein, in the Loca Lee Buckner Theatre on the college campus as part of FSC’s Festival of Fine Arts. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15-17 and Nov. 29-Dec. 1; matinees start at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 18 and Dec. 2. Mary T. Albright of the theatre arts department directs the play.

The 1979 comedy by Pulitzer prize-winning playwright Wendy Wasserstein follows two well educated friends, a wisecracking Jewish woman and her upper-class WASP marketing exec pal, as they struggle against non-understanding parents, male condescension and their own romantic expectations in the bittersweet pursuit of happiness. Filled with clever jokes of the hip New York variety, Wasserstein draws a perceptive portrait of the contemporary urban singles scene.

Tickets are $15. FSC students are admitted free. Non-FSC students pay half price. For ticket information, please contact the Buckner Theatre box office at 863-680-3089 or bucknerboxoffice@flsouthern.edu. Box office hours are weekdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
