Florida Southern offers new degree in Information Technology Management

LAKELAND, Fla. (Aug. 21, 2007) — Florida Southern College will offer a new degree in Information Technology Management (ITM) beginning this fall.  An ITM degree provides students with a solid foundation in information technology combined with business and economics.

ITM majors complete a four-course core and either of two four-course tracks: computer software applications or data communications and network systems. The tracks are based on Bureau of Labor Statistics projections showing that positions in data communications and network analysis and administration, and in computer applications software development, are expected to be among the top five in jobs growth through 2014. ITM graduates are prepared for positions both in information technology departments and in business units where they can provide technical expertise for those units.
