FSC theatre troupe presents “Blood Brothers”

LAKELAND, Fla. (Feb. 1, 2007) — Florida Southern College’s theatre arts department performs “Blood Brothers” in the Loca Lee Buckner Theatre on the college campus, as part of FSC’s Festival of Fine Arts. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15-17 and Feb. 22-24; matinees start at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 18 and Feb. 25. Paul Bawek, assistant professor of theatre, directs the play.

In “Blood Brothers,” a hapless mother with too many children to support surrenders one of her newborn twins to a childless neighboring woman. The two boys grow up as friends, never suspecting the truth, but trouble ensues when they fall hopelessly in love with the same girl. This award winning 1983 British musical, with book, lyrics, and music by Willy Russell, is one of the longest-running musicals of all time.

Tickets are $15. FSC students are admitted free. Non-FSC students pay half price. For ticket information, please contact the Branscomb Auditorium box office at (863) 680-4296.
