Hamburg Symphony Orchestra performs at Florida Southern College

LAKELAND, Fla. (Jan. 24, 2007) — Florida Southern College and the Festival of Fine Arts welcome The Hamburg Symphony Orchestra with Robert McDuffie, violin soloist. The performance takes place Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Branscomb Auditorium on the Florida Southern campus.

The outstanding German orchestra brings a program of great symphonic works highlighted by Tchaikovsky’s virtuosic “Concerto for Violin and Orchestra.” Founded in 1957, the orchestra has developed a sound international reputation on numerous tours to countries including Great Britain, Italy, France, Spain, Scandinavia, Poland and Turkey. World-renowned American violinist McDuffie has appeared as soloist with many of the major orchestras of the world, and this year is touring with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra in Germany and in 26 cities in the United States.
